"Notice of Participation Fee Changes for MELSA Public Seminars“

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, MELSA occasionally held special public seminars on-site for both members and non-members. However, these seminars have been suspended for the past few years since the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are pleased to announce that we will be inviting a guest lecturer to hold a special public seminar again.

In the light of the current socio-economical situation and various expenses such as venue rental fees, we will be revising the participation fees for our public seminars from October 2025.

Participation fees for both members and non-members will return to the same amount as before the COVID -19 pandemic.

*MELSA’s fiscal year runs from April 1st to March 31st of the following year.

**On-site lectures are subject to venue availability on MELSA’s scheduled dates.

***The participation fees for special seminars are to be paid on the day of each session. 

Payment Methods

Please make the payment to the MELSA postal savings account. Handling fees are to be covered by the individual.

You have the option to pay the annual fee of 18,000 yen either in one lump sum (by the end of March) or in two installments:

• First half: 9,000 yen (April, May, June, July, August, September). Deposit by the end of March.

• Second half: 9,000 yen (October, November, December, January, February, March). Deposit by the end of September.

If you join during the first or second half of the year, the annual fee will be prorated at ¥1,500 per month for each month of attendance

Once we confirm the depositor's name and membership ID, we will promptly email you the Zoom meeting URL, ID, and passcode.

2025-2026 Fees

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, NPO-MELSA suspended activities for two years from April 2020 to March 2022. However, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Kazunori SHISHIKURA and MELSA volunteer members, we were able to resume activities in April 2022. When resuming activities, we organized a curriculum centered on online lectures, taking into consideration social life immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic. We have received high praise from everyone thanks to your support.

Now that the COVID-19 pandemic has subsided and taking into account the trends in the socio-economic situation, we have decided to change the tuition fees. From April 2025, the annual fee will be 18,000 yen, and for those who join midway, the monthly fee will be 1,500 yen.

This is based on the tuition fees (500 yen per lesson) for the "MELSA Café One Coin Lessons" that were scheduled to start in April 2020. The newly compiled curriculum will include three types of online courses (with the ability to watch recordings at a later date), face-to-face courses (on-site meetups), and social gatherings (both online and in person).
